Boring week

I haven't done much all week. Yesterday I did the dishes and mixed up a batch of cookie dough to bake later. I was going to make up a few batches but I barely had enough butter for one. In the afternoon I put the little TV in the bathroom and took a shower and then ran a really hot bath and relaxed for about a hour while watching TV. It felt really good.
Today I went shopping. I was gone from 11am-3pm then I had to go to Dillons to get a few more things. I was craving a honey baked ham but I didn't want to spend $12 on one for just Curtis and me. I guess I will have to wait till the holidays or they go on sale.
I have been very bored this week. I decided I needed to fine a hobby. Last night I was watching a show on PBS about cemeteries. I have always liked looking at tombstones-especially old ones, so I decided that is going to be my hobby. I am going to drive around and look at cemeteries. I want to find old cemeteries and take pictures and tombstone rubbings. Before I start I am going to get a cell phone in case I need it. I hope to start soon since it will be cold soon. I guess I better find an indoor hobby too.
Tomorrow Zanes school is having a fall festival in the afternoon and he wants me to go so I guess I will go for a while. At least it is something to do.

Bored

I have nothing to do today and I am bored. I'm sure there are a lot of things that I could be doing but I don't feel like doing anything. I have done three loads of laundry and watched a movie. I plan on making an easy supper and relaxing tonight.
It was a good weekend. Work was light Sunday so I didn't have to work. I came back home and Zane had got into my bed. I watched TV for a while then went back to sleep ont he couch. I slept till 10:30. I went and got into bed and we laid in bed until after noon. When we finally got up we went to Gerries Berries and did the corn maze. It was really windy and cold but the corn blocked the wind and it wasn't too bad while we were in the maze. It took us 5o minutes to get out. I brought the camera but the batteries died after one picture. We got home a little before 4 and Zane played outside and Curtis and I relaxed inside. Since it was our anniversary we went to the Timberline Steak House for dinner. Curtis gave me a beautiful emerald ring. He must have been paying attention when I looked at them. I didn't think he would get me a ring because he gave me one a few years ago and I lost it. I never got it sized because it fit well in the simmer when my hands were not cold but when it got cold outside it was too big. I looked down one day and it was gone. I felt really bad but I am glad he got me another one.
I think I am going to go through my recipes today and decide what to make for supper the next couple weeks and make a grocery list. Since it has cooled off I feel like cooking.

Zane with his pumpkins

Here is a picture of Zane and the pumpkins he decorated. My parents brought him some pumpkins they grew so we bought these silly faces to put on them. We went to a pumpkin patch today but we only got one pumpkin. We will probably go to another patch this weekend and get some more pumpkins and do a corn maze.

I only took a few pictures at the party and only one of them was any good. The rest were of people covering their faces or their heads were turned the other way. This is Willy and the side view of Patty. I will try to get some pictures from the other peolpe that were there.

Party and stuff

We had a virus on our computer so I haven't been online much this week. I had to go upstairs to use the old computer and I don't like to use it. Curtis got the computer fixed Tuesday night but I was busy getting ready for the party to do much on the computer.
The party was pretty good. The people that matter most to me were there and that is what matters. I didn't get really drunk but I was feeling good for a while. I really miss getting drunk and doing crazy things and having a lot of fun and laughing a lot. I did have fun at the party. I took a few pictures but the camera is in my purse which is in the other room and I don't feel like getting up to get it right now. I haven't even looked at them. If there are any good or funny pictures I will put them on. I hope to have another party or get together at a bar before too long so I have another chance to get drunk and let it all hang out.
There was no school today so Zane and I went to the army surplus and got an army helmet for Halloween and a little ammo case for him to play with. There is no school again tomorrow so we are going to go shopping. I need to get an anniversary present for Curtis. Sunday is our 6 year anniversary and I have no idea what to get him. He will not tell me what he is doing for me, but I can't work overtime that night. I don't know if we are going to go out to eat or if he has gotten a babysitter for Zane. I hope I am not too tired from work. I will probably take off early if I can so I will be able to take a nap or start the celebration early.
It is getting late and I know Zane will not let me sleep in tomorrow so I better go. I will try to put the pictures on soon.

Busy Day

I have been cleaning all day. I cleaned the carpet in the living room and while it dried I cleaned the carpet in the dining room and the upholstery on the dining chairs. After that I moved the couch and love seat and cleaned the carpet under them then rearranged the furniture. I can already tell I am going to be sore tonight. I also have a blister on my hand from the carpet cleaner. It is like a vacuum but it weighs a lot more and is harder to push and pull.
I almost have the house clean for the party. I still have to clean the bathroom and mop the kitchen floor. I also need to take an inventory of the alcohol I have and make a list of what I need to buy. I need to find the big cooler so I can ice down the drinks. Next week I am going to go grocery shopping to buy the food.

I thought I would post what I have learned while cleaning.
1. If you have never seen what an onion will do, what it looks like or what it smells like after rotting for a few months you don't EVER want to find out.
2. Spiders are fast.
3. No matter how hard you try, some things just don't have a home.
4. Dust never goes away.
5. It's OK to turn the radio up so you can hear it over the vacuum.
6. Cats are afraid of vacuum cleaners and loud music.

Cleaning

I thought it was time to do an update. I have been busy cleaning my house. I am having a party here on the 19th and I have a lot of work to do. Yesterday I didn't do too much. I cleaned about 1/2 the kitchen and washed dishes and laundry. I still need to clean the bathroom, laundry room and the rest of the kitchen. I also want to clean the carpets and rearrange the furniture before the party.
I don't know when I will do it all. I have today and tomorrow to get it done. Zane doesn't have school Friday and I have already told him we will do something fun and I have to go shopping to get him some new jeans. I don't plan on doing a lot on the weekend unless I can get off work early one day. The day before the party I plan on doing the last minute cleaning like vacuuming.
We finally got DSL last week. I am enjoying it a lot. Right now I am listening to my personalized music station. I only wish they had Janis Joplin and John Prine on it.
I better get busy or I will never get the cleaning done.

Flood Pictures

Here are a couple pictures of the flood on October 2, 2005. They are not the best and if you don't know the area very well they will not mean much to you.

This was taken as we were driving. We were on 35th looking toward the south. If you look close you can see Payless in front of the grain elevators. There is usually no water in this area.


This was taken on Menoken road. There was water all around this house. Soldier Creek is just on the other side of the house. Payless is in the distance between the two out buildings.
