Weekend

I though I better do a short update before the weekend. Today Zane and I went to the zoo. We took a boy from his class. They were both really good and we had a lot of fun. My allergies have been really bad this week. I've had a dry throat today and yesterday and the days before that I had a really sore throat. I have also been sneezing a lot and I've had a lot of sinus problems. I have to work tomorrow then I have the rest of the weekend off. We are going to go to my parents. Only one of my sisters will be there so it will be a quite weekend. We are planning on going rock hunting again and maybe swimming. I will let you know how much fun we had. Have fun at work Sunday without me there.

Before and After Pictures

I finally got the picture on from when we got our new sewer line put in. This set was the only ones that posted the way I wanted them to. These are of the back yard where the line started.

The back corner before they started digging.
The big pile of dirt that blocked my car in.

After they were all done. What a mess!

Driveway Pictures

These pictures are all out of order.

This is the patio before Curtis had to move it. It was at the end of the driveway.

This is the driveway when they were all done.

Here is the trench before it was filled in. The truck and trailer blocked my car in from the back.

This is the driveway before they started digging. The patio use to be beside my car.

Front Yard Pictures

Like the other pictures these are out of order too. These are of the front yard.

I took this picture through the front window. I didn't want the guy to think I was too crazy.

He is starting to fill in the trench in this one.

The finished yard.

Our front yard before the digging. I wish we had it back.

Graduations

This week I went to 2 of my nieces graduations. Sara had her 8th grade promotion Tuesday night and Audrey had her Kindergarten graduation Wednesday morning. Zane and I spent the night at my sisters so he could play with his cousins and to save some gas.

This is Audrey's graduation. She is in the green dress. It was pretty cute to watch them sing their songs and get there diplomas.

This is Sara walking out after her promotion. She looks pretty happy to be going to high school next year.
Another picture of Sara. She looked so grown up. She usually has all of her hair pulled up in a "poof". My dad didn't even recognize her. We didn't realize her hair was so long.

After the graduation Wednesday Zane, Sara, Audrey and I went rock hunting for Zane's 4-H geology project. We went to a low water bridge by my parents house. We found a lot of rocks and a snake. It was swimming in the creek and scared me when I saw it. I don't know what kind it was but I was afraid one of the kids would be bitten and I would not be able to get them back to the car to go to the hospital. After we saw the snake we decided to go some where else. We went to another low water bridge and played in the water there. Zane got stuck in the mud and I got stuck trying to get him out, Sara caught a huge crawdad(crawfish) and kept calling it a lobster and Audrey kept loosing her shoes and we would have to chase after them before they floated down the creek. We all had a lot of fun and decided we would have to do it again this summer.

I tried to put pictures of the new sewer going in on Tuesday but it wasn't letting me. I will try to do it again later.

He's Back

The guy is back today to finish filling up the trench and level out the yard. He worked till 6:30 yesterday and was here this morning before I got up. He offered to let Curtis use his Bobcat last night so Curtis could finish, but thankfully Curtis turned him down. I don't think our house would still be standing if Curtis tried to drive and operate the Bobcat.
I am able to run water and flush the stool now. We all took showers after volleyball last night and everything worked good. Today I have a lot of laundry to do and I need to do dishes. If I feel like it and it doesn't get too hot I might make some cookies, but don't get your hopes up.

Update

I just got back from shopping. The guy moved some of the dirt that was in front of my car and I was able to pull forward through the yard to get out. Before I left the guy yelled at me for rinsing out a bowl in the kitchen sink. Well, he didn't really yell but he acted like I should have known not to run any water and told me not to run any more. I guess the person had been here to suck out the old sewer thing and when I ran the water it went into the hole outside and made it muddy. I guess he is lucky I didn't go to the bathroom after the sewer sucker guy had been here. You all know how often I have to go to the bathroom.
I was getting ready to make cookies when all this happened. I decided since I couldn't even wash my hands I better not get into cookie baking. Also, I didn't have enough sugar to make even one batch. Shopping was funner anyway. I got a new pair of jeans and looked for a new pair of work shoes. I going to try to talk Curtis into going back to the mall with me tomorrow so he can buy me some shoes for my b-day.
We have volleyball practice tonight. It is at 6:30 and Zane doesn't get out of B&G Club till 6 so I think we will eat there. I don't think I can make anything without running water anyway. I have taken some pictures and will take some more and post them later.

D-Day

Today they started digging for the new sewer. I got up extra early to take a shower because I have a fear that the water or electricity will somehow go off. The utility companies came yesterday and marked where their lines are and they go right down the driveway into the yard. It is right where the plumber is planning on digging. He spent a lot of time just looking at the yard before he started. I guess he was trying to decide what to do. A few minutes ago he asked me if we had cable because he found extra lines buried by the phone line. He acted like I should know what they were. He was lucky I knew that the water line came into the house in the basement.
I was planning on going shopping today but now my car is blocked in. He has his trailer parked behind it and a big pile of dirt in the yard in front of it. If the dirt wasn't there I would just drive through our yard and go down the neighbors driveway. If I want to leave I would have to do a 50 point turn and it would be embarrassing so I think I will wait and see if the goes somewhere for lunch. I guess I will have to stay home and clean. I was also thinking about making some cookies.

Adventure Golf

Somehow when I uploaded these pictures it put them on different. Friday night we played Adventure Golf. We had a lot of fun and will probably go again this summer. In the first picture Zane is posing for the camera. I don't know where he learned if from but he wanted a picture like that. The next picture is Zane hitting the ball. He did really good and almost beat me.

The third picture is Curtis with one of his all star moves. He ended up winning but I think he was cheating. The last picture is of the neatest hole. The picture was taken from where the hole is. You could hit it on the green or you would hit it into the water. If you hit it in the water it would go down the water, over the metal bridge and almost right into the hole. Hitting it on the green would take more hits.
Yesterday I didn't do much. Today I went and had lunch with Zane. The school had a cook out. I had to pay $2.60 for my meal and it wasn't worth it. I got a school lunch hamburger with cheese, we were allowed 3 pickles if we wanted them, a snack size package of fruit snacks, a snack size package of cheese crackers or pretzels and a milk. Zane brought his lunch and ate my crackers and I left the fruit snacks for him to eat at B&G Club.
After the lunch I went to K-Mart and got a Dr. Pepper shirt then went to the library and then got gas for the car. I really need to be working on the bedroom right now but I think it will wait till later. Tomorrow we are getting our house hooked up to the city sewer. I can't wait to have our driveway and front yard tore up. I will probably take some before and after pictures.

Busy

I have been busy cleaning the house. Yesterday afternoon I found out that an appraiser is going to come today to appraise the house. As always the house is a mess so I ran through each room and did a fast pick-up. I have vacuumed and swept and I tried to get the house presentable. The only room I an hot happy with is the bedroom. Since I have been going through clothes there are boxes all over and clothes everywhere. I think our living room has a funny smell so I looked everywhere for some air freshener and couldn't find any. I finally had to do a little dusting just so I could get the smell of lemon Pledge in the room.

I though I would tell everyone from work what I learned working the night shift. If you don't work there you will have no idea what I am talking about. I packed, decased, packed, packed with packout.
  1. If you want a good spot in the aisle you have to get there really early.
  2. Have a Sudoku puzzle and a pencil on you at all times.
  3. It is really boring decasing where there are only 8 decasers and you don't know any of them.
  4. If all the lights are on in your area and the reserge light is on, it will take exactly 1 hour to get a floater.
  5. The floater will make 10 boxes then fill every box and leave it for you to close and ship.
  6. After the floater has been in you aisle for 10 minutes the supervisor will come and tell them to go somewhere else.
  7. It will take another hour to get another floater.

After the appraiser comes I have to go get some groceries. Tonight we might go play mini golf if Zane is good at school.

Survived

I survived working the night shift. I just got Zane off to school and I am going to go back to bed soon. First, I am going to look online to see if I can find last nights episode of Lost. I asked Curtis to tape it for me and he forgot. I might "forget" to wash his underwear this week. It was getting really good and now I have no idea what happened.

Overtime

I guess it's time to update this. I wasn't in a good mood last week so I decided not to post anything negative. Work went good over the weekend and I am working overtime tonight. I really don't want to work the night shift but we could use the money for vacation. I hope the freaks don't get me. I am going to try to take a nap this morning. I tried to stay up late last night so I would be tired today for my nap but I was falling asleep before 10:30. I think I made it to a little after 11 before I was asleep.
I have been busy cleaning and getting ready for a garage sale. I don't think I will ever get through all the clothes in the bedroom. I ran out of boxes Monday night so I didn't do much yesterday, but Curtis brought some home for me so I can get busy again. I also want to go through all of Zanes toys and get rid of a lot of them. That will be another fun experience because he is going to want to keep all of them.
I better go start laundry than get to my nap. I'll let you know if I survived the night.

Birthday

I just got back from having lunch with my sister, Michelle. She was in town today for some meetings so she called and asked if I wanted to go out to lunch for my birthday. That's right. My birthday was yesterday. I turned 29. It wasn't very eventful. Curtis took my out for supper Monday. We went to Red Robin. Yesterday I had to get my drivers license renewed and after that I went to the library and got some books and movies. I was going to come home and start cleaning but then I decided since it was my birthday I didn't have to clean. Now I have to do it today. I am going to start in the bathroom and work my way to the other side of the house. It should only take a few weeks.
Thanks for the gifts, cards and e-cards I got for my birthday. I may have to have a party later. I usually have one on my b-day but I just didn't feel like it this year. If I don't have a party I will at least get my friends together at a bar so we can have a little fun together. I guess I better get busy.
