Field Trip pictures

This is one of the pictures I took in the capitol. We could only go to the 5th floor. I don't know if I would have wanted to go to the top with all the kids. The steps in the picture are the start of the 296 steps to the top.

This is both 2nd grade classes on the steps of the capitol. They look so sweet in this picture.

Playing hooky-kinda

I have been sick this weekend. I left work about 3 hours early yesterday because I didn't feel good. This morning I didn't even want to go to work, but I didn't want to waste a vacation day so I drug myself out of bed, got dressed and went. When I got there the volume was high and it looked like I would be there all day, but when I left the break room to start the day at 5 am I saw on the assignment board that we could go home if we wanted so I left. I went home and got back in bed. I slept until Curtis and Zane got up to get ready for school then I pretended to be asleep so I could continue to stay in bed. After Zane got on the bus, Curtis said he was going to go do some shopping so I got up and got ready to go. I wanted to go to a furniture store to check the prices on a sleeper sofa.
We went to K-Mart, Roaches hardware, Graingers (an auto parts store), Harbor Freight, Ed Marlings furniture store, IHOP, Lowes, Wal-Mart and Room Makers. I decided I wanted to go to Room Makers just to look at the sofa we saw there in December. We both liked it and it was the best price we could find. After talking to the sales man and looking around some more we decided to buy it. Since Curtis and I don't have very many days off together I decided we had better do it today. It will also take 2-3 weeks to get it here from the factory.
I am going to try to put the link so you can see it. I'm not sure if it will work.

We are going to have to rearrange our furniture now and I don't know where we are going to put everything. I will let Curtis figure it out. I better go so I can help with supper or lay down. I am feeling sick again. It comes and goes. I think my medicine is wearing off. I will try to put field trip pictures on later. They didn't turn out very well.

Sick and boring

Nothing exciting ever happens in my life. The highlight of my week so far has been picking up the picture we got taken of Zane and Santa. It was ready the week after it was taken but we never went to get it so I finally did yesterday. I woke up yesterday morning with a sore throat but it went away only to come back in the afternoon. I had a fever last night and felt yucky. My throat is still sore and dry today and I still don't feel good. I want to lay in bed all day but I have a lot of laundry to do before tomorrow.
Tomorrow I get to go on a field trip with Zane. We are going to the Kansas History Museum and the capitol. I hope I feel better by then. I also hope I don't get the annoying kids in my group. I don't know if we get to go to the top of the capitol or not. I think it would be fun so I hope we do.
I am planning on taking pictures tomorrow so I will post them if any are interesting. Hopefully my life will get more exciting.

Dreary Day

What a cold, yucky, rainy day. I was enjoying the nice warm weather we had been having. It is suppose to snow some today. It is so cloudy out. I have all the lights off and it is dark in the house. The cat just woke up growling and running around the house like something was wrong, so now I am freaked out. She does that when it thunders but it is not thundering so I don't know what is wrong.
Nothing exciting happened yesterday. I went and gave blood then I went to the book mobil and got a few books and movies. We went out for supper last night and then went to Wal-Mart to get cat food and did a lot of browsing there. After that we went to PetsMart to look around. We ended up buying Crista some cat toys that were Christmas clearance so they were really cheap.
I am trying to decide what to make for supper. I need to wash the dishes and wash clothes because I didn't do it yesterday. I also want to take a nap this afternoon, but I know if I do I will not be able to fall asleep tonight. I hope the roads are not slick in the morning. I don't plan on getting up any earlier than normal.

Can't believe I forgot this

I don't believe I forgot this. Today is Janis Joplin's birthday. She would have been 63. I wish I could have been able to see her in concert. I really love her music. Here are a some of my favorite songs.
  • Farewell Song
  • Little Girl Blue
  • Maybe
  • A Woman Left Lonely
  • Summertime
  • Trust Me

Bored

I have no life. Nothing exciting has happened at all. I am just sitting here listening to My Radio on Yahoo. At least it is good music. I really need to be doing laundry or cleaning but I don't feel like it. I have been in a down mood this week. I have felt like I need to cry, but when the feeling hits I am at a place where I can't cry with out looking stupid (like work or the store). I was laying down when Curtis got home yesterday and he asked what was wrong. I told him I had a headache, which I did, but tears were in my eyes so he knew something else was wrong. I couldn't tell him what because I don't even know. Hopefully today will be better.
I am planning on going to give blood today. There is a blood drive at work. I guess I will have to get dressed if I plan on leaving the house. I stayed in my pj's all day yesterday. I think we will go out for supper tonight. I am such a bad cook. I only have a few things I can make that are eatable and I have made them all ready this month. That's not counting hamburger, chicken, and tuna helpers and dinners that are complete meals in a box, but you can only eat so many before you get tired of them.
I think I will go take a long hot shower so I can start the laundry. Maybe something exciting will happen today and I will have something to post.

I did it!

I finally did it. I shaved my legs. I hadn't shaved them since the beginning of November. I hate shaving my legs in the winter. It seems pointless when you shave them and then get the goose bumps as soon as you get out of the shower. But, since it has warmed up some, and I could feel the wind blowing through it, I decided I was going to shave. First, I had to clean the bath tub really good and buy some new razors. Then, I moved the little TV into the bathroom since I was going to be in there for a while. I filled the tub up with water as hot as I could stand so it would stay warm for all of the shaving. Since the hair was as long as a mans it took a hour to shave it all and I went through two razors. Hopefully I will keep them shaved. But, if it gets really cold again I will probably not shave until it warms up.
I am already dreading going to work tomorrow. I need to stay all day but it will be hard if volume is light. There is no school on Monday and I want to take off early then so I can spend some time with Curtis and Zane in the afternoon. That evening we have a 4-H meeting. I better go start supper. Curtis will be home in a few minutes.

Nothing much

I haven't done anything exciting this week. Yesterday I finally undecorated the Christmas tree. I don't know why I waited so long. I also did some laundry and cleaning. I went shopping today to get groceries and other stuff we needed. I wanted to get some shorts but I didn't find any that I liked. This afternoon I did more laundry, washed dishes, and made lasagna for supper. When Curtis gets home I am going to make him play volleyball with me until it is time to get Zane from Boys and Girls Club. I think after supper we are going to get Zanes hair cut. It is so long it is getting in his eyes.
Tomorrow is my sisters birthday. I don't think I have posted much about my family. I have four older sisters-Michelle, Sherry, Teri and Cari. I also have one little brother, Lucas. I have 5 nieces and 4 nephews ranging in age from 4-almost 17. My mom and dad live on a farm and it is a lot of fun when we all get together.
I better go so I can get the rest of supper done.

I want to...

I don't want to go to work tomorrow. I want to stay home and sleep in. I want to enjoy the nice weather we are going to have. I want to play catch with Zane and Curtis. I want to eat a turkey sandwich with mayo and tomatoes for lunch. I want to stay home. I want work to be light so I can leave early. I want to enjoy the weekend. I don't want to work tomorrow.

Pictures of Zane

Here is Zane at the zoo. We have to take his picture by this gorilla every time we go to the zoo.

This is at the Kansas History Museum. They had old clothes so the kids could dress up like cowboys and there was different toys to play on and with.

This is one of the bridges on the nature trails by the museum. Zane was afraid it would fall down so he wouldn't go on it until I tested it. It wasn't very high up and there was only a few inches of water under it.

Time to Type

I finally have some time to get on the computer and post some stuff. I have been on the computer this week but it has been at night and I didn't want to wake anyone up with the typing. It sounds really loud at night.
I hope everyone had a great new years. We went to Emporia. I got off work at 3pm and we left here around 4. We went out to eat with my oldest sister, her husband and my cousin Marti who all live in Emporia. After dinner I went out with Marti, and Curtis and Zane stayed at my sisters and played games there. Marti and I went to a little bar that she is a regular at. I got to meet all the people she always talks about but I didn't know. I was so tired since I had worked that day and had to get up before 4am. I only have a few drinks. I called Curtis and Zane at midnight and Marti and I left the bar about 15 minutes later since I was so tired and she wanted to go meet up with some other friends.
Zane finally went back to school today. We went to the zoo on Tuesday and yesterday we went to the Kansas History Museum. We went on a little hike on the trails by the museum and decided we would have to go back again when it wasn't so muddy. We also went to Cedar Crest and went on a walk on the trails there. It was a lot of fun but I wasn't sure where each trail went and it was getting late so we didn't stay very long. I was afraid we would get lost or someone was hiding in the trees to kill us. I guess I watch too much TV.
I haven't been sleeping very well this week. It takes me forever to fall asleep and if I wake up during the night I lay awake forever. Wednesday I woke up when Curtis got up for work and I couldn't fall back asleep. I had to go to the bathroom but I wanted to take a pregnancy test in the morning so I got up at 6am and took the test. Of course it was negative, but I knew it would be.
I didn't do much today. I washed dishes and 2 loads of laundry and I took a shower. I think I will make supper from a box and relax tonight as I watch TV. I will have to do some cleaning tomorrow and prepare for a full weekend of work.
