Happy Halloween

We have been getting ready for Halloween all month. Curtis and Zane put up the outside decorations that we had and I have bought some more and put them up.

This is a little grave yard in our front yard. Zane and I made it one day last week.

Here are our pumpkins. The first one is Zane's. It was hallowed out and then he put clear pegs in it (like a Lite-Brite), then you put a light in it. It was something he could do by himself. The middle one is mine. It took FOREVER and the next day it was all shriveled up. Curtis did the last one. He made the deign up on the computer.

Here is a close up of my pumpkin. Too bad it looks like a crap now. I will take some more pictures tonight and put them up soon.

Cancelled

Our trip to the pumpkin patch and corn maze was cancelled because of the rain. We are going to go next week. We did buy some pumpkins from the grocery store so we will have some to carve.
I am getting ready to go to bed. Hopefully work will not be too bad this weekend. Sunday a lot of us are going to wear pink for breast cancer awareness and Monday a few of us are going to dress up for Halloween. I am very excited that this weekend we set our clocks back one hour so I get an extra hour of sleep, but I will probably just stay up a hour later than I usually do.

Finally an update

It has been a while since I updated this. I haven't been busy, just lazy. Not much had happened. Last week I didn't do anything exciting. I worked all weekend. Monday, Curtis and I celebrated our wedding anniversary. He sent me roses at work and I gave him an IOU for a ladder he has been wanting. I can be very romantic sometimes. We ate dinner at Johnny Carino's. It was pretty good. Zane even liked what he got. I had enough food left for 2 more meals. I have been eating it for lunch.

Tonight we are going to Gary's Berries with our 4-H club. We are going to do the corn maze and hopefully pick out some pumpkins. I hope it doesn't rain until we are done. Zane is out of school tomorrow and Friday. I plan on going shopping tomorrow and cleaning Friday.
If I don't forget my camera I will post some pictures from tonight.

Survived

I survived another weekend at work. I am glad it is over. It was very hot in the building and I was in a grouchy mood most of the weekend. I'm not feeling as grouchy now, but the way my moods have been changing it might not last very long.
I am planning on going to watch my nephew, Jon, run cross country today. My sister is suppose to let me know what time the boys will start. Curtis even left me the truck since every time I drive the car it breaks.
I don't have many plans for the week. I really need to clean some. I also want to get the rest of the Halloween decorations out. I am trying to decide what I want to be. Any suggestions?

Late Post

I can't believe I am up this late. I am usually asleep by now. I have such an exciting life.
Zane and I are going to my parents tomorrow. I don't know what we will do there. If my brother has his 4 wheeler there we might take it out and explore a little.

Last time we were there I took this picture. My dad had these pigs butchered and we got 1/2 of one. I am going to pick it up tomorrow. That is the main reason we are going to my parents.
I better go to bed. I am really tired.

My Day

I am going to try to post something everyday this week.
Zane has a doctors appointment this afternoon. I am not looking forward to taking him. We usually end up waiting in the waiting room for a hour and them once we are called back to the room we wait a long time for the doctor to come in. Curtis called this morning and said he might take a 1/2 day. He said that the computers are down at work and so they have nothing to do. I told him to come home and go with us to the doctor.
I am trying to decide what to make for supper. Last night I made a really good meal and I don't want to make something that is too good or Curtis will start expecting it every night. I guess that is all I have to post. I didn't say I would have exciting things to say just that I will try to post everyday.

Tired

I'm trying to recover from another long weekend of working. Yesterday I had a really bad headache and I couldn't wait to get off work. I haven't done anything today. I am too tired. I need to get started on laundry and clean the house up some, but I think it will wait till tomorrow.
I am hoping I don't get forced to work overtime this week. Today they had some mandatory overtime but I wasn't one of the unlucky ones who had to work. I don't know what we will do if I get forced in. I think Curtis will take off the first half of the day to get Zane to school. I wish we had a babysitter that could watch Zane that early in the morning. It would make it a lot less stressful.
Nothing much is happening around here. Zane doesn't have school Friday so we are trying to decide what to do. We just can't sit around the house. It would be too boring.

Busses and Ponies

I just saw a girl ride by on a pony. No, I'm not seeing things. Today is the homecoming parade. It starts and ends right down the block. They have blocked off the road in front of my house and only busses (and girls on ponies) can be on it. There are at least 10 busses parked there. I decided not to go to the parade. I had enough of annoying kids yesterday. I did survive the field trip but I don't think I will go on the next one.
I went and did my shopping this morning. I only had a few things on my list, but I some how managed to spent close to $100. I think I need to work some overtime so I will have some money to buy more Halloween decorations. You can never have enough of them and I have seen some really neat ones this year.
For all of you that get to work with me this weekend I might make some more no bake cookies today. If I do I will bring some in to eat while we slave away. As always I am not looking forward to going to work this weekend.

The Car Hates Me

I have decided I am not driving the car out of Topeka anymore. Monday I left from work to go watch my niece play volleyball. It was about 15 miles to the school. After I got there and shut off the car I decided I better brush out my hair so I didn't scare anyone. Then it happened. I heard a pop noise and looked up to see steam coming out from under the hood. I got out and looked to see what happened. It looked like the hose popped out of the radiator again ( it also happened on the way home from the state fair). I called Curtis and told him to come fix it. He told me before I left that the car should run fine. I went in and watched Sara play a game while I waited for him to get there.
After he looked at it he found out that it was much worse. Where the hose hooks on to the radiator had broke off. He thinks that it must have been clogged and had pressure build up in it. So once again we had to call AAA and have them rescue us. Curtis ordered another radiator and is planning of fixing it as soon as it comes in.
I haven't done much this week. I baked some cookies today and also made some no bake cookies. I am glad it has cooled off again. I hope it stays out of the 90's the rest of the year. I am ready for cold weather.
Tomorrow I am going on a field trip to the zoo with Zanes class. I am sure the kids will drive me crazy. I always seem to get the kids that are really annoying. If I survive I will let you know how it was.
