More Fair Pictures

I am finally getting around to putting up more pictures from the fair.

Here is Zane finishing the giant slide. A couple years ago he did it with Curtis and it scared him, but this time he did it all by himself and really liked it.
Zanes favorite part was the army stuff. He got to hold their guns, try on their gear and climb in all the vehicles.

This is a Watusi. It looked kinda like a long horn. There were a lot of them there and most of them had cute babies.

Zane also rode the mechanical bull. He stayed on for a long time. The operator had it going pretty slow at first and then turned it up a little. He fell to the side but still held on for quite a while.

I started making cookies today but my oven quit working. I don't know what happened. I was in the middle of cooking baking a batch and it died. I guess I will have Curtis look at it and hopefully he can fix it.

I am not looking forward to going to work tomorrow. Hopefully we will not be busy and I can get out early. Monday after work I am planning on going to watch my niece play volleyball. She is playing close to Topeka so if I leave from work I should get there in time to watch her.

How Long?

How long does it take to put in a storm door?

Curtis reading the directions. The door is just leaning against the frame.

Three hours later it is done.

Nothing

Not much is going on with me. I had the day off yesterday so Curtis and I went out for lunch. After that we went to Lowes and bought a storm door for the front of out house. Today I did some laundry and started cutting up peppers so I could make salsa tomorrow. While I was doing that Curtis came home. He got off work early. I had him pick some onions from the garden for the salsa, but they were either really small or rotten. Now I have to go buy some onions before I can make the salsa. Curtis is now mowing the yard and I am doing more laundry. It never ends.

Trip Pictures

I am finally getting around to posting about our trip to the fair. On the way there we stopped across the interstate from Fort Riley. There is a big hill with different army guns and tanks on it. We always see them from the car so I decided to stop and let Zane look at them.

This is the first thing we saw on our hike up the hill. I don't know what it is, but Zane did.

This is the view from the top of the hill. That is Fort Riley.

This was also taken at the top. Our car is way down there. It was a very long hike to the top. I also had to go to the bathroom (imagine that) so it made it that much harder.

This was at the very top. It is some kind of big gun thing. Zane got to climb up on it. He had a lot of fun.

Another picture of the big thing on the top of the hill.

I will put more pictures on later. We had a lot of fun and I am sure we will go back next year.

Quick Update

Today Zane and I are heading to Hutch. My mom and dad are also going, so we decided to get a hotel room with 2 beds and share the cost. I am picking Zane up after his lunch so we should be there by 4. Zane is excited because there is an indoor pool so he gets to go swimming. We are going to go to the fair tomorrow and leaving for home in the afternoon. I don't want to get home too late since I have to work Saturday. I will take pictures at the fair and put them on when I have time.

Long Weekend

I had a very long weekend. Saturday I had to work 1 hour of overtime which made it a 13 hour day. Curtis had mandatory overtime on Sunday so I had to call my sister, Teri, and ask her to watch Zane. After I got home Saturday we had to take him to Nortonville where my sister lives, a 40 minute trip each way. Sunday at work I got to go to another department which was easier work and more money, but I had to stand on the cement floor without a mat all day and my legs and feet were really hurting by the end of the day. After work Curtis went and picked up Zane and I stayed home and took a shower and rested up for work the next day. Monday I had to work with people I really don't care for, so it made a long day(not you, Larry). We also had mandatory end of shift overtime. Thankfully I got to go to another department from 3-5 to get some of their work done (easier work and more money). At 5 I had to go back to my regular department and work 1 hour and 15 minutes overtime. I was so tired when I got home. I was also hurting all over. I can work three 12 hour days, but if you throw in a couple days with overtime it is really hard to do. We also had the stupidest supervisors working on my floor all weekend and that didn't help. I am glad I get 4 days off to rest.
I have a lot of laundry to do this week since I didn't do much last week. I also want to go see my friend, Sara. She had her baby Friday and I haven't made it to see her. I was going to go Saturday after work then all the overtime stuff happened and I couldn't. I had looked forward to it al day. Now I have so much to tell her about work. I really missed her this weekend.

Farm Pictures

I finally got some pictures to post. They are not in the order I wanted them in, but it will do.

The field across the road from my parents was being combined on Monday. I took this picture as they were putting the corn into the truck. They filled up several trucks when we were there and they still had more to combine.

My mom and sisters came to Topeka Saturday and took Zane to see Barnyard and then he went to Winchester with them and stayed the night. He had a lot of fun playing with his cousins. He told my sister he wished we could live right next to grandpa and so could all of my sisters and their families because it is so fun when we are all together. When everyone left Monday afternoon and we were the only ones there he got really bored. My dad took him to help with chores and then they took the 4 wheeler out to check the cattle.

When they were out on the 4 wheeler I took some pictures around the farm. I was able to get close to the chickens because they were in the pen. My parents are getting 24 eggs a day from them.

This is my dads new dog, Jesse. She is 4 months old. The kids really like playing with her and my dad is enjoying her, too.

Monday afternoon the guys went to the back pasture and shot clay pigeons. Zane went with them and my dad let him shoot the gun once. He also picked up every empty shell. He set them up on the ramp and got mad if anyone walked on it because they would fall down.

I took some more pictures and I will try to get them on later.

Blogaversary

I started my blog one year ago today. I haven't posted as often as I wanted to so I will try to post more often from now on.
Over the holiday weekend we went to my parents. I had to work Saturday and Sunday so as soon as got off I hurried home and got stuff ready to go. We stayed the night Sunday and came home Monday evening. I took a lot of pictures and tried to post some but it isn't letting me. I will try again later.
I haven't been in a very good mood so far this week. I don't know what is wrong. I am getting upset really easily and just feeling down. Hopefully it will go away soon. I have a lot of laundry to do and dishes to wash but I don't feel like doing anything. I guess I am going to have to make myself get up and get busy. I can't sit around watching soaps all day.
